From Chaos to Coffee Break

In my robe and my hair a mess
whoa wait a minute there a period should rest

The phone is ringing but it must wait
cuz on Facebook a comment of hate

Delete that post unfriend that human
my twitter is tweeting and my cookies got cumin

My hand over here and foot over there
give me a minute while I pull out my hair

Just one second as I stand in awe
words for a poem to be birthed from my craw

I need to sit and the house can wait
Is that FedEx or UPS at the gate?

Just leave it there I will get it later
Wait where's the dog? Oh geez it's a gator!

Good golly oh my where is my pie?
Did I leave it in the dryer and set it on high?

Now my clothes smell like apple, my new fragrance is Fuji
my cell may die and it only has 2G

Voicemail is full and my sink piled high
uh oh a new prompt has just caught my eye

Never enough time to sit and ponder
a writer's life is to sit and wonder

The chaos of life has taken its toll
reflections of life written on a tp roll

No matter where and no matter when
always taking a paper and pen

Pieces to create and words to explore
dang it what now, a knock at the door

Um, we found your dog and brought him home
Keep him here, don't let him roam!

Oh my goodness yet another mistake!?
my life as a writer from chaos to coffee break

A Writer’s Love Affair

I pick you up and hold you close
I grasp you nervously with sweaty palm
I await the urges spewing from my soul
Sometimes I have tears uncontrollably when I am with you
At times I am laughing as you bring that out in me
Occasionally I stop and ponder our future
My excitement with you rises to a peak of euphoria
Then at the climax of my moment my lips relinquish their gifts
A sweet and gentle kiss ensues between quill and papyrus
My passion’s result is manifest

The Lion and the Pressing

A journey and my soles become weary
My prey are those things not seen that I crave to devour
My spirit longs to be understood but my wild side of passion cares not
I have no inclination to have you venture where I am called to go

Like the olive who yields its shimmering liquid gold
In this season of pressing my greatest works shall be birthed
I shall rise and shine like no time before
I am lion, hear me roar

Born of My Body

Ravine, space and chasm
I love you deeply
Sky, third heaven, to the moon and back again
I watch you intently
Rainbows, fresh dew and sunshine
I will enjoy you magnificently

I will hold you my child for an eternity

Chrome Cocaine

The purring thunder of your bass like chrome
Pipes electric impulses deep to my bones

A hypnotic trance that takes me places
Wind in my hair and passing faces

The smell of leather wafts passed my nose
Nostrils flare at my engines prose

Oh the vibration seeps deep to my soul
I eagerly mount you and my high is to roll

I am a hog at heart a pig for power
Like the iron horse, it’s a Road King’s tower

William and Arthur admired my ride
Their wit has conjured the legacy of pride

The old Indian sits in a garage somewhere
Dying to get out and let the wind in his hair

The shiny reflection of a gas junkies dream
Mountains grow larger as I cruise their ravine

Approaching home with my high now low
Her moans now cry as her pistons now slow

The key to her heart now is removed
She is now quiet and a cease comes to our interlude.

This was so fun and I absolutely loved it. My husband's bike has great thunderous pipes and sold us on that particular bike-haha!   © 8 hours ago, Georgieanna J. Harp    harley--davidson • motorcycles

Dent de Lion (Lion’s Tooth)

Jagged teeth
Bitter herb
A taste that grabs
some have never heard

Cleansing
Coffee
Delicacy to eat
the nicest lion you'll ever meet

A rebel soldier
A prolific spread
an invader who robs and steals your bed

Might you think
His brightness winks
a yellow lacy toddy to drink

Warm and toasty
Root that's roasty
palatable mostly but in winter are ghostly

Buttercups in spring
What a marvelous thing
won't you drink with the Lion King?
---------------------------------------------------
I love the herb dandelion so I wanted to pay tribute. The root is amazing roasted and drank like coffee. It cleanses the body and the green leaves are tasty picked at the right time.

Sensual Scourge

Calculated scum is all too nice
to pen the pit I engaged in more than thrice,

To describe the sleaze you came so sharply dressed
sexy and smelling good, who wouldn’t be obsessed?

From across the room you saw through my breasts
thought you would take them and make me eternally repressed

Your eyes they undressed me, you were the reaper of my soul
you took my heart and massacred its roll

A bloody murder in the name of an urge
I now felt the dank, moldy experience of a scourge

A dagger has caressed the feel of my skin
in my mind is it worth it over a useless has-been?

A river of tears, the smell of old vomit
encrusted my heart that burned regret like a comet

And now, although many years have passed
my heart still smells of singed naïveness and ash.
